CREATOR

Giving time a clear ending.

Hello, I'm Hiroko Utsumi —
an editor and web media producer who has spent many years
reporting, writing, and editing across the world of lifestyle:
time management, mornings, sleep, and everyday living.

UNTIL is a focus-management app,
designed to be used alongside your planner or calendar.

Not for making plans —
but for giving the one thing in front of you
a time to end.

We can't make more time.

But by deciding when something ends,
we can change the shape — and the value — of the time we have right now.

That is the idea UNTIL was born from.

A career built around time and daily life

WHY UNTIL

One step at a time.

I love writing in my planner, and I love gazing at my calendar.

And like you, I'm a working person who thinks every day about how to use time well.

Over the years, I've interviewed many researchers and practitioners on mornings, sleep and quality rest, ways of working, and lifestyle, and written and edited countless articles. At times I've been the one interviewed, or shared these ideas in talks — always thinking about the rhythm of daily life.

That journey led me to one idea: UNTIL.

The world is full of timer apps and countdown apps.

But most of them measure length — "how many minutes," "how many days left." Almost none stay close to a point in time: finish by this o'clock.

The truth is, what we really want to keep in mind, all day long, is this:how much time is left until then?

Because deadlines are the small turning points that visit us again and again, every single day.

When will you finish what you're doing right now?

That question matters — for keeping promises to yourself, and for keeping promises to others.

Use the power of a deadline not to rush yourself,
but to focus on the one thing in front of you, and finish it well.

It's a small promise you make with yourself.

Decide one thing.
Start one thing.
Finish one thing.

Each step may look small.

But when you look back, you'll find that, step by step, they have carried you farther than you ever imagined.

A future that has no shape yet

becomes real, little by little, through today's small completions.

Give today's time a small deadline.

UNTIL is the tool for exactly that.
